The dates were chosen to include the "Midsummer Festivities" an old Swedish tradition where a flower covered pole is risen and people are dancing around all dressed in white, followed by big dinner. We were invited to join the festivities on the island of Resaro. Dressed in our paddling gear we joined the dance and dinner, good relaxation from the paddling. |

| Getting ready, the kayaks were rented from Point 65 kayak, launching in the big lake Malaren which divides the City of Stockholm by a lock into the Baltic sea. Amazing paddling in the City center, passing the city hall, the Kings castle and the narrow channels, watch out for the ferries and small boats !! | |

| The Stockholm archipelago includes about 20000 islands, some uninhibited . Due to the thick ice period when melted therocks are round shaped, the islands are rich with forests and and now also with summer houses.. | |

| After the rough winter, swans, ducks and geese swim around friendly with their newborn families. | |
 |
 |
Vaxholm is the capital of the islands, located on the route to Finalnd and Balticum. |
